Unfortunately we can confirm that the Tewkesbury Food & Drink Festival scheduled for the end of June 2020 has now been cancelled as a result of COVID-19 restrictions. This is a decision that was not made lightly, but unfortunately the current climate has lead to this. All traders have been contacted separately regarding their payments.
We want to thank you for your understanding in this difficult time, and we hope that you are all staying safe.
I hope you are all well and staying safe at this difficult time. Unfortunately, following discussions with the Cirencester Town Council, we have come to the conclusion that we must cancel the event this year, scheduled for the 30th & 31st of May.
We tried to reschedule the event for later in the year, but could not find a date that worked for both parties, meaning that unfortunately we will not be going ahead with the festival at all in 2020.
We understand that this is an extremely difficult time for all of you, just as it is for us, and we do not take these decisions lightly. We have made contact with all traders who have booked on to the event and they have been informed.
With regards to our Tewkesbury & Stratford Food Festivals, these are being constantly monitored and decisions will be made closer to the time.

As a result of the government announcement on Monday 23rd March 2020, we have taken the incredibly difficult decision to close all of our markets for the time being. We feel this is the only option in order to maintain the safety of visitors, traders & our staff.
All advanced payments for Farmers Markets, as well as Arts & Crafts Markets will be frozen and will be used again once the markets re-open.
With regards to our food festivals, the first one being scheduled for the 30th & 31st May, we will be assessing the situation constantly and will make a decision closer to the time.
We appreciate this is a terribly difficult time for all involved; we wish everyone the absolute best and look forward to working with you all when it is safe to do so.

Following discussions with Cirencester Town Council, the decision has been made to cancel the Monday & Friday Charter, Arts & Crafts and Farmers Markets until further notice as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak.
Despite putting measures in place to try and find a workable solution that would allow us to run the markets and adhere to Government Guidance on social distancing in the Market place, the priority needs to be the health of visitors, traders and events staff alike.
This has been a very difficult decision to make, that we realise will have an effect on people’s livelihoods; unfortunately, it is something that must be done to follow the Government directions and do the right thing.
We do not want the markets to become an excuse for at risk individuals to come out of their homes and into the town, where they are at an even greater risk.
Our thoughts are with you, as our traders, who rely on markets for your livelihood and understand the frustration. We all need to play our part, and by us stopping markets, we hope to contribute to how soon this will pass.
With regards to advanced payments made for the Cirencester Craft & Cirencester Farmers Markets, all payments have been frozen and will be used once the markets start-up again. This means that if you have paid for April’s craft market for instance, you will be able to use this payment for future dates once the market restarts.
As it stands, the food festival at the end of May is still going ahead, but this will be assessed closer to the time and we will inform all traders should the event need to be cancelled.
